The Telinga Parabolic dish is a 22-inch foldable dish offering your microphones to be used in mono or PZM stereo configurations. Parabolics (also known as parabolas) are a great tool for wildlife recording. They offer directional recording by isolating and amplifying sounds within a narrow band in front of the microphone without the addition of excessive self-noise, the noise created by the microphone when sounds are artificially amplified.
I recently recorded a library of red deer stags bellowing during their rutting season, take a listen below.
Most of these sounds were recorded 50m to 100m away, the clarity and distance for parabolas are second to none. This makes recording wildlife (which most of the time you can't get close to) a dream. If you would like to purchase this library you can find it here.
