MASTERING AUDIO
I aim to have every recording as natural as possible, meaning no editing or tweaking from the field recorder to the library you download, especially my ambience and nature recordings. Occasionally some ambience and nature recordings can contain unwanted sounds such as planes flying overhead, which will need to be removed from the library. This is why I have a "Notes" section in the metadata of the library, to be as transparent as possible about whether the audio has been modified in any way.
Here is an example of the "Notes" section in a library, which lists whether a sound has been modified and gives a description of what has been done to it. Every library will have metadata with a notes section, a list of description meanings can be found below.
Edited To Be Clean = The track has had involuntary noise cut out and/or crossfaded, there also may be EQ to remove unwanted noise.
Natural Soundscape = No EQ, no crossfades, a natural untouched soundscape. If there is unwanted sound on the track, it would be split into 2 tracks instead of a crossfade.
